Founded by Jim and Gwen Reeves in August of 1970, The Country Squire has been a Deep South tradition for over 50 years. Mr. and Mrs. Reeves worked to bring the region a pipe and cigar experience like no other. A world-class tobacconist was born, majoring in the finest smoking products and accessories for the sophisticated enthusiast.
In 2016 The Country Squire was sold to manager Jon David Cole. Trained by Mrs. Reeves herself, Jon David is devoted to carrying on the legacy and tradition of this Southern institution. Cole is assisted in running the business by a talented staff of Certified Retail Tobacconists who work to continue the tradition of hand blending high-quality tobaccos and carrying the latest and best premium tobacco products, including the world’s finest cigars.

I had a wonderful experience here Dom helped me while I was here, What a knowledgeable person he was like a true Tobacconist or like an encyclopedia of tobacco knowledge he knows his stuff. Not only do they have many different pipe tobacco’s but they also allow you to try them too. They gave me that Southern Hospitality and the place had that southern charm of yester-year that’s all but forgotten in this day and age. Will definitely return. Highly recommended!!

A most excellent, complete, and very well attended tobacconist in the Jackson, MS area. A classic purveyor akin to venerable old shops like Leavitt & Pearce in Harvard Square. Dom, the gentleman who took care of me, had a vast knowledge of multifarious subjects; I could tell he was extremely passionate about the true connoisseurship of pipes and tobacco. He helped me pick a house blend, which I found to be very nostalgic flavor wise. We also had a quick discussion on leaf, plug, and different genus and species of tobacco. The shop had a warm, inviting atmosphere to it; conversation was easy to come by and very friendly. The atmosphere struck me as similar to that of an English pub in the counties. The shop is moving location(March 2026), about 4-500 yards down the road, so please check it out when you’re in town looking for a beautiful cigar, pipe, leaf, tobacco, or the various accoutrements that go with such simple pleasures. Be warned: As the sign on the door says, glass pipes and those sorts of low-brow smoking accessories are not available in this esteemed establishment.

Made my order and it was never received.I sent an email to customer service via their website with my order information, and received no reply. I was so disappointed. I can not recommend them at all. Update. The company reached out to me via the initial review and I received it around 0630 this morning before heading to work. I was appreciative and sent in my info. Then, as I stepped out my door to work…there it was. My long awaited package. So here is a correction. Thank you again @countrysquire

I have mixed emotions of this place. I went there for the first time on Friday December 26th 2025. I just got into pipe smoking a few months ago. The gentleman that helped me was extremely helpful and I wound up buying a pipe there and some tobacco. I also bought a bottle of Coca-Cola that should have been $2. I paid cash for everything. Unfortunately when I get back to Texas, I looked at the receipt and realized he had charged me $9 for two beers which I did not purchase. I'm not sure if somebody's tab wind up on my receipt by accident or what I also learned that the pipes listed online are significantly cheaper than the prices that are in the store. I like them but I'm just not sure as this was my first experience with them and it was mostly good but had a couple of weird things thrown in there. I know it's probably not a big deal to some but in this day and age money is hard to come by so that $7 overcharge along with me being a first-timer kind of put a bad taste in my mouth.

I’ve only ordered online until today, we were passing through on our way to Gulf Shores and I wanted to stop, so glad I did. The young man that opened was very helpful and knowledgeable about tobacco, gave me a much needed lesson, which is one reason I wanted to stop. Bought a few tobacco’s to try, even had the option of getting my pipe and giving them a try, but really not sure where the wife packed them. I will definitely be back and plan on placing more orders. Good place with good vibes.
